In 2018, OTRURA introduced the concept of Re_Stitching as the guardian of lived legacy. It is an act of love toward garments, textiles, and objects that have accompanied our loved ones, ourselves, or that resonate with the emotions and admiration we feel toward them.
In January 2020, during the off-schedule of MBFWM, the first Re_Stitching pieces were presented. Through research, care, restoration, re-patterning, and re-stitching of garments or textiles from another time, OTRURA creates new contemporary pieces adapted to the life of their new wearer.
These pieces are conceived to remain alive, to continue accumulating emotions, and to be transmitted, chosen, inherited, and re-lived.
There are no predefined limits or rules. The only boundary is respect for the origin. It is therefore an act of development and research, not mere repair or patchwork.
The House wastes no element of the original. Any additional materials or components never compete in richness, value, or importance, they exist in service of the original.
Anyone can bring their emotional textiles to the House, and we Re_Stitch emotions.
